Trail Running calendar near Walla Walla 2026-2027

Trail 5K and 10K plus a free paved Family 1 Mile at West Park in Umatilla, OR. The 10K crosses the Columbia River into Washington and back while proceeds support the Providence Cancer Institute and a post race celebration follows.

A community 10k on Moscow Mountain organized by Palouse Road Runners, starting from the Headwaters Trailhead. The route is just over 5 miles with about 700 ft of climbing; entry is free and donations are welcome.

A trail running festival at Jasper Mountain Reserve offering a 4-person 52.4-mile relay, a 26.2-mile marathon, a 13.1-mile half, and a 4.4-mile family run on single-track loops, with on-site camping and limited on-course aid.

High Valley Half is a point to point 1/2 Marathon from Cove, OR to Union on mostly gravel roads with about 1,000 feet of elevation gain. Aid stations are located after miles 4, 7, and 11 and restrooms are available only at start and finish.

A mountain skyrace on June 26, 2026 in Joseph, Oregon that climbs 3,700 feet over 4.2 miles to Mt Howard, includes a tram descent, tiered registration fees, finisher medals, and awards including a $200 record bonus.

Blue Mountain Bash on June 27 2026 in Pomeroy WA is a loop trail 5K in the Blue Mountains. Shuttle service is included with registration and all finishers receive shirts and medals.

July 2026

A point-to-point run along the Lostine River in Lostine, Oregon on July 4, 2026, offering 10K, 5K and 1-mile options. The event is organized by the Rotary Club of Wallowa County with proceeds supporting youth programs and scholarships.

A community 10K event in Moscow, ID offering solo and relay options with six marked loops. Each entry receives six donuts and follows leave no trace rules at the PCEI start area.

August 2026

An 11th annual six person relay in La Grande, OR covering 80.6 miles with about 6,000 feet of elevation gain, featuring gravel mountain roads and a trail finish at a ski resort. Registration has early, regular, and late pricing.

Part of the Palouse Road Runners summer series, the Warnick Trailhead 10k is an approximately 6.2 mile trail loop on Moscow Mountain with over 800 feet of climbing; results appear on UltraSignup.

A muddy mix of cross country running and obstacles in Lewiston on August 29, 2026. The event can be run competitively or enjoyed as a casual mud run and includes a Mini-Mudder for children 10 and under.

September 2026

Run through the scenic gravel roads of Jump off Joe Mountain near Kennewick. Choose from marathon, half marathon, or 10k distances and enjoy summit views in this low key community event.

A backyard ultra in Richland, WA where runners repeat a 4.16667 mile loop each hour until one person completes a final solo lap. Single aid station, overnight support and custom belt buckles awarded at 100 miles.

A day of the Northwest Series at Hell's Gate State Park in Lewiston, ID offering 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon and 50K distances with listed entry fees and on-site merchandise.

Trail race in Tollgate, OR offering four distances from a 7K to a new 23 Miler. Courses run mostly on Umatilla Rim single track with aid stations, a cup-less policy, and a 2pm cutoff.

October 2026

Moscow Mountain Madness invites trail lovers to tackle 5 mile, half marathon or 50k courses across technical single track and forest scenery. Tough terrain, aid stations and authentic backcountry vibes make it a memorable mountain run.

Laliik is an annual trail race on Rattlesnake Mountain organized by Runners of the Sage. It offers several distance options and raises funds for the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve, including support for year round porta potties at the trailhead..

Trail running at Chamna Natural Preserve in Richland, WA on October 24, 2026, offering a half marathon, 10K, and 6K. Courses favor dirt trail, shirts available, costume prizes and post-race awards and snacks.

December 2026

Climb 89 is an Everesting-style hill repeat event on Badger Mountain in Richland, WA, featuring a 0.35 mile climb with 292 ft gain per ascent and finisher awards based on completed lap milestones.

January 2027

Experience winter trail running on the woodchip and dirt paths of the Big Cross facility in Pasco. Choose between the 2.5 mile or 5 mile distances and receive a specialized runners belt for participating.
