Walla Walla 6 Hour : Bennington Lake, Walla Walla, WA (April 10, 2027)

The Walla Walla 6 Hour is a women only trail event held at Bennington Lake. The main format is a timed six-hour race on a looped trail; participants complete as many laps as they wish during the six hours. During the final hour, a short one-mile course becomes available.

The loop follows the Whitetail Trail, a roughly 5-mile outer circuit around Bennington Lake. The trail is mostly double-track with some single-track sections and about 370 ft of elevation gain per loop.

Distances

  • 6 hours main event
  • 5-mile loop (Whitetail Trail around Bennington Lake)
  • 1-mile short course (opens in the final hour)

The event continues a tradition of supporting Trail Sisters, an organization focused on women in trail running and related community issues such as safety, menstrual health, and equity in racing. Run Oregon organizes the 2027 edition and returns proceeds to local communities through event fundraisers; additional donations can be added during registration.

Registration is handled through UltraSignup; the system accepts entries until the Wednesday before the event and offers a waitlist if the race is full. There are no transfers and no refunds. The event is pending USATF sanction approval and operates under a special use permit with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Mill Creek Project/Bennington Lake.

Race results will be posted on UltraSignup. Participants who complete all six hours receive a Trail Sisters trucker hat, and the woman with the most laps receives a gift basket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
