West Macs Monster
The Ekistica West Macs Monster is a trail running festival held on the Larapinta Trail in Tjoritja National Park, Central Australia, near Alice Springs. The event offers a range of distances from 5 km up to 231 km, staged annually on the third weekend in May; the 2027 dates are May 14–16.
For 2027 most distances are sold out and there is no waitlist; entries remain available for the 5 km Tele-Monster only. Ultra-distance entries require a qualifying run or an established plan to complete a qualifying run by April 30, 2027; training runs are not accepted. Entries typically open at 7:00 pm on October 1 each year for the following year. Volunteer registration for 2027 opens on March 1, 2027.
The event acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Owners of the land the Larapinta Trail passes through, recognising the Western and Central Arrernte people and their continuing connection to the country.
