Wakely Dam Ultra - 55K in Piseco, NY

The Wakely Dam Ultra is a 55K ultra marathon through the Adirondack Park wilderness. The course follows a remote section of the Northville Placid Trail between Piseco Lake and the Wakely Dam. The trail is technical and includes approximately 3,300 feet of total elevation gain.

The event is totally self-supported; runners must provide their own aid. The route has no crossroads - once entered at the dam there are two exits: emerge at the Piseco Airport or return the way you came. Hiking or walking poles are not permitted on the course. Race sweeps will collect visible trash as they pass.

The registration fee for 2026 is $115.00 and includes a race shirt, additional swag, and two meals including a pre-race pasta and a post-race meal for runners and families. During registration entrants must provide a validating race result. Acceptable validation options include a sub-5:15 road marathon within the last 12 months, a sub-9:30 50K trail race within the last 12 months, a 50 mile finish within the last 12 months, or a Wakely finish within 10:30 hours in the last two years. Credit card information is collected at registration but payment is not charged until validation is complete.

Packet pickup and athlete check-in occur at the Piseco Airport. First-time participants are required to attend the course update session. There is no overnight camping or parking at the Piseco Airport. Camping at Wakely Dam is allowed only at designated sites with a maximum of two tents per site; the dam area includes primitive sites with outhouses, fire pits, and picnic tables.
