About the race
Trail Run Australia Port Stephens is a two-day coastal trail running stage race held in Tomaree National Park, Port Stephens, NSW. Race headquarters are at Fingal Bay Foreshore Reserve (3 Marine Drive, Fingal Bay) with public amenities, showers, drinking fountains, paid parking, cafe access and beach access.
The event offers multiple stage and single-day options. Distances include:
- 57 km (2-Day Ultra: 25 km + 32 km)
- 42 km (2-Day Marathon: 21 km + 21 km)
- 24 km (2-Day TRA24: 11 km + 13 km)
- 12 km (2-Day TRA12: 6.2 km + 5.8 km)
- Saturday-only and Sunday-only entries for many distances
Courses run on a mix of singletrack, fire trails, beaches and short road/tarmac sections, showcasing coastal bushland, headlands, dunes and ocean views. Fully stocked aid stations are provided on course; medical and first aid personnel staff check points and Race HQ. Compulsory equipment lists apply for specified distances and random equipment checks occur on course; missing compulsory items may incur time penalties or disqualification. Hydration checks are conducted at the start lines and athletes must carry the required fluid volumes for admission to starts. Bus shuttle transfers from Race HQ to some start points are available for a fee. Finish lines return to Fingal Bay Foreshore where finishers receive a medallion and stage results are published online. Course details and equipment lists are supplied by the organiser.
