The Winter Wipeout! takes place on Saturday 10 January 2026 at Ingram Cafe (NE66 4LT). It is a deep winter fell run that goes to the summit of Hedgehope and returns to the start. The distance is described as a half marathon (approx.). The route is fully marked and staffed with marshals. The event is Race 3 of the Shadowlands Race Series and is subject to TRA and UKA rules. Previous editions have included sleet, snow and strong winds.

Entry and requirements

Entries open Thursday 16 January 2025 and close Monday 5 January 2026. Minimum age is 17 or older on the event date. Entry fees: UKA members £35 (rising to £45 from 01/12/2025); non-members £37 (rising to £47 from 01/12/2025). Fees exclude a booking fee. Participants are required to carry specified winter kit. The event is fully marshalled and organisers provide warm soup after the run. An optional XCover purchase is available to allow possible refunds for unforeseen circumstances. Take on a tough winter ultra through the wild Cheviot hills on a roughly 55 mile loop that challenges experienced runners with changeable conditions and a 24 hour cutoff. All finishers receive a GPS tracker, t shirt and medal.
