Event History

The organizer, who started Pennine Trails as a solo venture in 2019, announced that the 2025 edition of The Winter Tolkien Trail Race was the final event they would personally organize. They expressed gratitude to participants, volunteers, sponsors, and family for their support over the years. The organizer is now in the process of passing on the various races in the portfolio, including this one, to new organizers to ensure their continuation. The race's legacy is tied to providing a welcoming entry point for runners into the sport of trail running.

Other races in the Pennine Trails series include The Tolkien Trail Race (July), the Gisburn Forest Trail Races (August), and the Pennine Trail Marathon (August). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
