The Winter Tolkien Trail Race
The Winter Tolkien Trail Race is a winter trail event held at Stonyhurst College in Hurst Green, Clitheroe, Lancashire on 31 December 2026. The course measures 11.1 km with about 528 ft of elevation and follows a counter-clockwise route that uses sections of the local Tolkien Trail.

The course continues past Cromwell Bridge, built in 1562, into ancient woodlands and includes a set of steps referred to as "Fangorn Forest" before returning to the college grounds to finish with the college building visible.
Entry opens on Sunday 16 August 2026 at 10:00 and closes on Monday 14 December 2026. Minimum age for participants is 18 on the event date. Entry fee is £30.00.
