The course uses a single well marked out-and-back route measuring 3.28 miles (5.28 km). Race formats use repeated out-and-backs: 5k is a 2.5 km out-and-return, the 10k covers a single full out-and-back (approximately 10.5 km), the half marathon is two full out-and-backs, the marathon is four, and the ultra is five out-and-backs (32.8 miles).

There are four self-serve water stations. Station 1 is at the start/finish. Stations 2 and 4 are at the midpoint (2.5 km) and will be used twice. Station 3 sits at the full course turning point (5.28 km). The event is cup-free so competitors must bring a reusable cup.

Time limits and race starts depend on tide tables and will be confirmed in advance. Entrants must meet organiser age requirements and kit regulations; a mandatory kit list is enforced and random checks may be made. All finishers receive a bespoke Pendine medal and category winners are awarded bespoke trophies. Entry fees vary by distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
