The Pendine Sands Races 2027

The Pendine Sands Races take place on 11 April 2027 at Pendine Sands, with the start and finish next to Barnacles Cafe, Sea View, Pendine SA33 4NY. For 2027 the event programme comprises 5k, 10k and Half Marathon, all held on the beach on a firm sand surface. The maximum allowable running time for all race distances is four hours.

The course is a measured out and back route using a full course length of 3.28 miles (5.28 km) each way. Turning points are at 2.5 km and 5 km to create the required race distances.

  • 5k: 2.5 km out and back on the beach.
  • 10k: single out and back of the full course, approximately 10.5 km.
  • Half Marathon: two full out and backs to complete the distance.

Three self-serving water stations are provided; one at the start and two at the beach midpoints. The event is cup free so competitors must carry a reusable cup. All finishers receive a bespoke Pendine medal and trophies are awarded to the male and female champions of the 5k, 10k and Half Marathon.

Entry fees for 2027 reflect a £5 per person increase due to MOD charges: 5k £30, 10k £35, Half Marathon £40. Parking is pay and display near the registration area by Barnacles Cafe. Race numbers are available only at the start location on race day. Transfers or deferrals are permitted up to four weeks before the event; entry fees are otherwise non-refundable.
