The Oner Ultra Trail Run

Isle of Portland, United Kingdom • 6-7 Jun 2026

The ONER

The ONER is an ultradistance foot race along the Jurassic Coast. The course covers about 85 miles (circa 140 km) and is to be completed within 30 hours. The route runs from just outside Charmouth eastwards to the National Trust Shell Bay Car Park, Studland, and includes the full circumnavigation of Portland.

The event uses coastal footpaths, beaches and tracks and crosses exposed cliff areas, with some sections occurring in hours of darkness. Checkpoints are located at roughly 10 km intervals. Each checkpoint has staff who record times and provide energy bars, sweets, salty snacks, filled rolls, water, squash and cola. The halfway checkpoint serves hot food and the finish offers hot homemade soup. Medical cover is available at checkpoints.

Event HQ and registration is at Masonic Lodge Portland, Victoria Square, Portland, Dorset DT5 1AL. Transport runs between the HQ and the start and between the finish and HQ. Mini buses can collect retired participants on course.

Entry includes a GPS tracker supplied by Geo Tracks, an event t-shirt, food and drink at checkpoints, transport to and from the start/finish, a bespoke finisher medal, free parking, medical cover, on-course support and an event information pack. A compulsory kit list is enforced at registration and includes navigation, whistle, waterproof top, long trousers or tights, headtorch with spare batteries, emergency nutrition, more than 400 ml of drink, warm clothing, power bank and a charged mobile phone. Rules include wearing high-visibility clothing and a red tail light at sundown, no littering, and no pacers; support runners may join for a single checkpoint section. Participants must maintain a minimum average pace of 5.8 km/h or they will be asked to retire and be transported to HQ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
