The Maverick Dark Oxfordshire Trail 2026

The Maverick Dark Oxfordshire Trail offers a night-time running experience within the Stonor Park estate. Located in Henley-on-Thames and set against the backdrop of the Chiltern Hills, the event features routes that traverse an environment home to fallow deer and wallabies. The course is characterized by its rooty terrain and a series of climbs across the different distances.

Participants can choose from three available route options:

  • Long: 17 km with 494 m of elevation gain
  • Middle: 13 km with 361 m of elevation gain
  • Short: 7 km with 100 m of elevation gain

The Middle and Long routes include one outpost for nutritional top-ups, while the Short route has none. The event operates a plastic-free policy at outposts, requiring participants to bring their own reusable cups or bottles for water. Essential equipment for all runners includes a headtorch or chest torch, trail shoes, a phone, a raincoat, a long-sleeve top, a foil blanket, and a water bottle or pack.

Facilities at the venue include a bag drop area and free parking. All routes are fully marked and timed, with online results available after the event. Dogs are not permitted at this event. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
