The Maverick Dark Oxfordshire Trail 2026
The event is a night trail run held at Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire (RG9 6HF) on Saturday 7 November 2026. The course runs on estate trails within the Stonor Park grounds, an area noted for fallow deer and occasional wallabies. Participants run with head torches and navigate trails in the dark.
Available routes:
- Long - 17 km, +494 m elevation
- Middle - 13 km, +361 m elevation
- Short - 7 km, +100 m elevation
All routes are described by the organiser as relatively challenging. There is no outpost on the Short route; the Middle and Long routes each have one outpost offering sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte. The outposts aim to be cup-free, so participants are asked to bring a cup or bottle for refills. There are no toilets on the run routes; toilets are only in the start/finish area.
The event provides free parking, a fully marked course, timing and online results, event photography, food and drink at the venue, a bag drop area and a metal finisher medal. Head torches or chest torches and trail shoes are listed as essential items; headphones are not permitted. Dogs are not allowed. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Online entry closes Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 12:00 noon; on-the-day entry may be available if the event is not sold out. Organisers ask that runners finish within 2.5 hours to reduce marshal time on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
