The Maverick Dark Oxfordshire Trail 2026

The event takes place on Saturday 7 November 2026 at Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. Routes run on trails inside the Stonor Park estate, which lies in the Chiltern Hills and is split by the River Thames. The estate is home to fallow deer and wallabies.

Distances on estate trails are offered as three marked routes:

  • Long: 17 km, +494 m elevation
  • Middle: 13 km, +361 m elevation
  • Short: 7 km, +100 m elevation

The Short route has no outpost. The Middle and Long routes each have one outpost that provides snacks, gels and electrolyte top ups. There are no toilets along the run routes; toilets are available only within the start and finish area.

Provided facilities include free parking, a fully marked course, timing and online results, event photography, food and drink, a bag drop area and a metal finishers medal. Organisers ask that runners aim to finish within 2.5 hours to reduce pressure on marshals.

Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Dogs are not permitted. The event aims to keep outposts cup free, so runners should bring a cup or bottle for refills. Essential items recommended are a head torch or chest torch, phone, trail shoes, rain coat, long sleeve top, foil blanket and water bottle or running pack. Headphones are not permitted.
