Event Overview

The Maverick Dark Oxfordshire Trail is a nighttime trail running event that takes place on the estate of Stonor Park in the Chiltern Hills, near Henley-on-Thames. The courses start and finish at Stonor Park.

Routes and Distance

Three trail running routes are available within the Stonor Park estate:

  • Long: 17 km with +494 m of elevation gain.
  • Middle: 13 km with +361 m of elevation gain.
  • Short: 7 km with +100 m of elevation gain.

All participants are asked to finish their run by 7:30 PM. The estate is home to fallow deer and wallabies.

Event Details and Requirements

The event is part of a plastic-free initiative. Participants must bring a reusable cup or bottle to use at the self-serve water barrels on the course.

  • A headtorch or chest torch is required.
  • The Short route has no outpost (aid station).
  • The Middle and Long routes each have one outpost offering water, sweet and savoury snacks, gels, and electrolyte.
  • No toilets are available along the run routes, only in the start/finish area.
  • Headphones are not permitted during the event.
  • Dogs are not permitted at this event.
  • Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Entry includes free parking, a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, a bag drop area, and a metal finisher's medal. G3 no.3 is a running event at Newlands Corner, Guildford on 28 February 2026 offering 10 km and 15 km distances with paid entry and entries closing on 26 February.

Chocothon is a friendly timed lap on a flat 5.3 km riverside towpath, letting you complete as many laps as you can within a seven hour window. Distances from 5 km to ultra, medals and aid stations make it perfect for all abilities.

Run a scenic multi terrain 10km starting by the River Thames near Windsor & Eton Brewery. The route follows the Thames and Jubilee Rivers through Dorney and Eton Wick. All finishers get a medal, a drink, and a commemorative pint cup.
