Trail Running in Tarrywile Park
The Tarrywile Half Marathon takes place in Danbury, Connecticut, within the grounds of Tarrywile Park. The event features a course consisting of Northeast single track trails with technical terrain. Participants run through a landscape that includes views of the city of Danbury and several local lakes.
The event offers three distinct race distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
The Half Marathon loop includes approximately 3,000 feet of elevation gain. All distances utilize this primary course loop. Participants in the Marathon are required to reach the final loop by a specific afternoon cutoff time to continue the race.
This is a cupless event, meaning runners are responsible for carrying their own hydration systems, such as bottles, packs, or reusable cups. Aid stations located along the course provide water, electrolyte drinks, and standard food items like chips and pretzels. The race operates under a strict no-littering policy to protect the park environment. Participants receive a finisher medal and additional awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in each category.
