The Tarrywile Half Marathon is a trail running event at Tarrywile Park, 70 Southern Blvd., Danbury, Connecticut. The event offers three distances and is organized by Steep Endurance. The course includes viewpoints of Danbury and the park lakes.

Course and distances

The course uses multiple trail types, including technical Northeast single track. Parts of the route are rocky, rooty, and hilly. The 10K is one loop, the half marathon is two loops, and the marathon is four loops. Hikers and walkers are allowed in the 10K and half marathon but must finish within a 7 hour time limit.

Entry fees are listed in the range of USD 35 to 90. The event has a no-refund and no-transfer policy for registrations and bibs.

Awards and post-race provisions

Finishers receive medals from Ragged Cuts and additional sponsor items. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance. There is a $600 cash bonus for the first male under 1:45 and the first female under 2:00 in the half marathon. Trail runs nearby

Run Sleeping Giant State Park on scenic, challenging trails with 25K and 50K options. Tackle runnable miles, rocky singletrack and a steep scramble to sweeping views, while supporting the park through registration proceeds.

Run or walk the John Jay Community Trail Race in Cross River through scenic wooded trails and rolling hills, with 5k, 4k walk and a Kids Jay Dash on the track. A family friendly community event that finishes on the John Jay Contest Field.

Run a scenic all terrain 5K through Stamford Museum and Nature Center, looping Bendel Pond and passing farm animals. Bring kids for a fun run with Petunia the Scottish Highland cow and support the museum.

Women focused trail run at Lake Mohegan offering a runnable 5K loop, a 10K two lap option and a 4 hour loop challenge. Expect scenic trails, medals for finishers and post race snacks; nonbinary runners are welcome.
