Sweat Vs Steam - Echuca
Sweat Vs Steam is a running event held along the Murray River through the historic Port of Echuca and the Echuca Moama area. Participants run alongside the river and compete against the PS Pevensey paddle steamer to the finish.
Race options include:
- 500 m Dash
- 1 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
The 5 km and 10 km courses include Scenic Drive; the 10 km is a full lap and the 5 km a half lap. Sections of the route follow dirt roads along the river. The 10 km course has an elevation gain of about 8 m. Finisher medals and prizes are part of the event.
Bib collection is organised from the Rotunda at Hopwood Gardens with a preferred pre-event session on the Saturday before the race and a collection window on the event morning. The event runs in November and organisers note that entries for 2026 will open soon.
All funds raised are donated to support the local community, with profits from the event going to Echuca Regional Health. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
