Sweat Hot Oklahoma Summer Trials

This event offers three race distances: a 12-hour run, a 6-hour run, and a 5K. The race takes place in Nowata, Oklahoma, starting at 707 W Osage Ave. This is noted as the fifth and final edition of the event.

The course is not closed to traffic, and signage will alert vehicles to runners. The 6-hour and 12-hour events are run on a marked 3.3-mile loop. The surface is a combination of asphalt and gravel (60% asphalt, 40% gravel), with a reported 60 feet of elevation gain per loop and some shade available on the gravel county road. Participants run as many full loops as possible within their time limit, with only complete loops counting toward the total. In the event of a tie for the most loops, the winner is determined by the fastest final loop.

For safety, 5K runners will start further from the track and complete a single loop before finishing on the track.

Two aid stations are available: one fully stocked station at the start/finish line, and one station on the course providing water, sports drink, and ice. Cold water is available approximately every 1.6 miles. Food items such as barbecue, quesadillas, watermelon, and hot dogs are served throughout the day.

Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for male and female participants in all events. All finishers receive a finisher medal on a lanyard and a t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
