Sharp's Ridge Rambler : event overview

Sharp's Ridge Rambler is a trail race event held at the Volunteer Academy (formerly Lincoln Park Technology and Trade Center), 535 Chickamauga Avenue, Knoxville TN 37917. The event offers multiple trail distances that use park trails on Sharp's Ridge, with a short paved section at the start before turning onto more technical, flowing singletrack.

Course details describe the 4 Mile route using Hanover Street, Lincoln, Sharp Shin, Push Line and Firebreak trails in a loop back to Lincoln. The 7 Mile route follows the 4 Mile course then continues up to Independence, follows an oval loop, and returns along Lincoln past Push Line and Sharp Shin before a Hanover spur finish. The Kids Trail Mile is about one mile on trail and starts and finishes at the base of the trailhead; race staging is at the Volunteer Academy.

Registration fees vary by division: typical adult entries are listed at $30, student entries (14 and under) at $22, and kids entries at $9. Registration has no refunds and no bib transfers; KTC member discounts apply. Event policies include no headsets, bicycles, strollers, roller blades or pets on course, limited cup sizes at aid stations with a recommendation to carry personal water, and a sweeper enforcing an 18:00/mile minimum pace. Volunteers are requested; limited edition series shirts are distributed one per runner per season. Results are posted online after the race.
