The Santa Cruz Island Eco-Extreme Trail Half Marathon is a challenging 13.3-mile trail race held on Santa Cruz Island in Channel Islands National Park, California. Organized by the Ventura County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Upper Ojai Team, this rugged course features steep hills, creek crossings, and diverse island wilderness terrain with an elevation gain of nearly 2,000 feet. Runners experience breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, unique island flora and fauna, and a demanding climb known as the "equalizer hill." The event supports search and rescue charities and includes five aid stations, a finisher medal, catered lunch, and a festive post-race celebration.
