Run Dungog - Trail Running Festival

Run Dungog is a community trail running festival in Dungog, New South Wales, scheduled for 9th August, 2026. The event is based at the Dungog Common and uses surrounding trails in the Hunter Region at the foothills of the Barrington Tops. It is organised by a volunteer committee and operates as a community fundraiser, with all proceeds donated to the Dungog Shire Community Centre.

The festival offers multiple trail distances and on-site activities. Children aged 12 and under run free for all races. Wildcraft Australia hosts the Young Adventurer outdoor program for children aged 5 to 12, providing supervised nature-play games, bush craft, basic survival skills and a mini trail run. The event site includes a local coffee cart, local brunch produce and live music, and the festival is dog friendly.

Run Dungog includes formal race categories across a range of trail distances and provides race-day registration and briefings at the event hub. The organisers acknowledge that the festival takes place on the land of the Gringai people, within the Karuah Aboriginal Land Council, and they pay respect to Elders past and present.
