Event Overview
The Red Feather Trail Jamboree is a three-day trail running event held in the Red Feather Lakes region of Northern Colorado. The courses utilize private land at the Ben Delatour Scout Camp as well as surrounding National Forest trails. The terrain consists of approximately 70-80% singletrack and 20-30% dirt road, featuring technical sections, rolling meadows, and forested areas.
Participants can choose from several distances or take on the 3-Day Challenge, which involves completing all three main events over the weekend.
Distances and Course Details
The following race options are available:
- 50 Mile: Includes approximately 8,500 feet of vertical gain with elevations reaching 10,828 feet.
- 50K: Features 4,200 feet of vertical gain with an average elevation of 7,800 feet.
- Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile course with 1,700 feet of vertical elevation gain.
- 3-Day Challenge: A 94-mile total distance for participants finishing all three daily races.
- Kids Race: A 1-mile event held on the final day of the jamboree.
Facilities and Logistics
The event headquarters at the Ben Delatour Scout Camp offers various amenities for participants and their families. On-site facilities include campgrounds, cabins for rent, and a shower house. Community meals are available in the dining hall, including post-race meals for runners with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
The courses are marked with pink flagging and directional arrows. Full-service aid stations are positioned along the routes, providing water, sports drinks, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. For the 50 Mile race, drop bags are permitted at specific aid stations. Crew access for friends and family is limited to designated trailheads to manage traffic and parking.
Participant Information
Registration includes a gender-specific race T-shirt, a finisher award, and free race photos. There are no qualification requirements. The event has a total registration cap of 500 participants across all distances. In the event of a distance change, runners may upgrade by paying the fee difference or downshift at no extra cost, provided changes are made by the specified deadlines.
