Raven Rocks Run : Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River NY

The Raven Rocks Run is a trail event held at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, New York. The event includes on-site trail racing and a month-long virtual challenge. The race course runs on singletrack and packed-trail sections that feature rocky climbs, ridgeline trails, hilly meadows, ravines, and the site of the former fire tower. A water stop is placed at the 4 mile mark near the top of the fire tower climb.

The event program includes both an in-park 10k and a November virtual distance challenge. The virtual Raven 100k Challenge runs from November 1 through November 30 and records walking, hiking, or running mileage for a finishing total of 100 kilometers. Finishers of the virtual challenge who report their distances receive a custom finisher woodallion engraved with name and distance; badge claims are submitted separately via the event badge form.

The race supports the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation; membership during registration is possible and the program raised over $4,500 in one recent year. The event maintains a volunteer crew for course marking, aid, and logistics, and volunteer photographers document each edition. Registration options have included same-day registration and combined-entry bundles for multiple events in some years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
