Raven Rocks Run (10k trail)

The Raven Rocks Run is a trail race held at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY. The event features a 10k trail course that starts in the meadow and passes the spot where the Leatherman’s Loop begins. The route climbs to two of the park's highest points, Raven Rocks Overlook and the Fire Tower Summit, then returns with a mostly downhill and relatively flat finish. The course passes the site of the former Cross River Mountain fire tower. Parking is in the meadow lot with overflow in the upper meadow. The race supports the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.

Raven 100k Challenge and logistics

The Raven 100k Challenge runs during November; participants register and accumulate 100k by running, hiking, or walking over the month. Official tracking and entries are handled through RunSignUp and award considerations may require verifiable GPX files. Finishers who meet requirements receive a wooden finisher medallion with custom badges. Optional shirts are offered in long-sleeve cotton and short-sleeve technical fabric; virtual participants can have shirts mailed. The event offers early bird and combo registration pricing when signing up for both the 10k race and the 100k challenge. In 2024 the in-person race had 286 finishers and was supported by around 40 volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
