Raven Rocks Run
Raven Rocks Run takes place at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY. The event includes a trail race and a monthlong November distance challenge. Distinct course features include rocky climbs, ridgeline trails, hilly meadows, ravines, and views from high points in the park.
The in-person event is the Raven Rocks 10k Trail Run on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The 10k course starts in the lower meadow, passes the Leatherman’s Loop waypoint, climbs to the Raven Rocks Overlook and the Fire Tower Summit, then returns with a mostly downhill and relatively flat finish. There is a water stop at the four mile mark near the top of the Fire Tower climb. The course also passes the site of the Cross River Mountain Fire Tower.
The Raven 100k Challenge runs through November and uses official tracking on RunSignUp. Participants who complete the 100k goal receive a wooden finisher medallion called a woodallion; shirts are optional and virtual runners can have shirts mailed if ordered. The challenge includes optional bonus achievement badges, a Strava group for sharing that is not used for official results, and requirements for Top 3 awards that include timely entries and GPX-verifiable distances.
Both events support the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation and include fundraising for the Cross River Mountain Fire Tower project with the Westchester Parks Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
