Polar Bear Trail - 11th edition (10 January 2027)
Polar Bear Trail is one of the organiser's older events and is held in a protected nature area. The start and finish are located at Velorium Outdoor Sports & Bikepark. The route runs through the Savelsbos, a protected slope forest southeast of Maastricht.
The course mixes forest paths and offroad terrain, with about 88 percent of the route running in the forest or offroad. The terrain includes short, steep climbs and singletracks that reflect a winter trail atmosphere, with potential conditions such as snow, mud or freezing temperatures.
Three distances are offered:
- 14 km - 275 m D+
- 22 km - 422 m D+
- 30 km - 591 m D+
Group registration is possible from a minimum of 10 people. The organiser uses the Passion for Sports online registration platform. At the time of publication, registrations for the event are not yet open.
Practical information listed for participants includes parking, facilities such as showers, bib numbers, live tracking and results via the official app, and details about aid stations and course profile.
