About the race
The Polar Bear Trail takes place on 10 January 2027 in the Savelsbos, a hillside forest southeast of Maastricht. This is the 11th edition and the event has start and finish at Velorium Outdoor Sports & Bikepark. The trail runs through a protected nature area for which the organiser has permission to hold events.
The course goes over forest slopes and contains steep climbs and singletrack sections that follow narrow, natural paths through the woods. For the 2027 edition the organiser offers three different distances. Registration opens on 1 September. In recent years the event has reached its maximum capacity and available places have been known to sell out quickly.
