Point Mugu Trail Run

The event is held at the Ray Miller Trail Head in La Jolla Canyon, Malibu within Point Mugu State Park. It offers a half marathon and a 10k on singletrack and fireroad that include coastal views and varied terrain.

The half marathon course ascends about three miles of ocean-view switchbacks, follows the Overlook Fireroad, and drops into Sycamore Canyon via the Backbone Trail. After two faster miles the route climbs the Fireline Trail and returns to the Ray Miller Trail for the downhill finish. The 10k turns around near the top of Fireline.

Included with entry are a unique finisher medal and free course photography. Onsite amenities listed for participants include a beer garden for 21 plus, a vegan friendly taco breakfast, sports massage, sponsor giveaways, finish line announcers and music, and same day results. Professional event medical support will be present.

The race is part of the SoCalTrail Trail Half Series, one of six half marathons in the series. Series scoring awards points based on each runner’s time as a percentage of the division winner, with women and men scored separately. Volunteers receive race swag, meals, coffee, sports massage and transferable race credits at a stated hourly rate.
