Persistence Backyard Ultra
Persistence Backyard Ultra
The Persistence Backyard Ultra is an officially affiliated race of Lazarus Lake's Big Dog's Backyard Ultra. Held at the Eco Park in Arva, Ontario, just outside of London, this event is a "Last One Standing" competition designed to test physical and mental endurance.
The course features a specific format where runners must complete 6.7056 km every hour. This is achieved by finishing two consecutive laps of a smaller 3.36 km circuit within the sixty-minute window. The terrain consists of crushed stone trails, grass, and a dirt road, making it a very runnable surface. Participants remain close to the Race HQ throughout the loop.
As a Silver Ticket event, the winner receives automatic entry into the World Team Championship. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and supports the Children's Health Foundation through registration donations.
