Persistence Backyard Ultra
The Persistence Backyard Ultra is an affiliated backyard ultra held on July 31, 2027 at Eco Park, 15889 Medway Road, Arva, Ontario, Canada. The format requires runners to complete a repeated hourly loop of 6.7056 kilometres, composed of two consecutive circuits of approximately 3.36 kilometres each.
The course is near Race HQ and follows crushed stone trail, some grass, and a dirt road. The Eco Park is a private facility and the course will not be accessible for pre-running before race day. A mapped approximation of the loop is provided by the organizer.
The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and is limited to 68 participants; there will be no waitlist. Entry includes a commemorative hoodie. The overall winner receives a jacket, a bronze coin, and a free entry to the next edition, plus prizes from sponsors.
Race operations note that runners must provide their own food and drinking water, as there is no potable water on site though some hydration options will be available. Crew support is limited to two crew members per runner at the start, and spectators are not permitted. Headlamps are required after dark and reflective gear is encouraged. Medical personnel and race staff are on site and may withdraw runners for safety reasons. A portion of each registration is donated to the Children's Health Foundation and the event lists a fundraising goal of CA$2,000. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
