Persistence Backyard Ultra in Arva, Ontario

The Persistence Backyard Ultra takes place at Eco Park, 15889 Medway Road, Arva, ON. The event is an affiliated backyard ultra and this edition offers a Silver Ticket that gives the winner automatic entry to the World Team Championship. The race has been sanctioned by Athletics Ontario in past years and sanctioning will be requested again.

The course is an approximately 3.36 kilometre loop that runners must complete twice consecutively within each hour to make up the required 6.7056 kilometre per hourly lap. The surface includes crushed stone trail, some grass, and a dirt road. Eco Park is a private facility and the course will not be open for pre-race access.

The field is capped at 67 participants and there will be no waitlist. Official backyard ultra rules apply without exception. Each runner may begin with up to two crew members; crew can change during daylight hours as runners are eliminated. Spectators are not permitted. Race bibs must be worn on the front and remain visible while on course.

There is no official timing; completion is determined by returning to race HQ before the hour expires. Runners must bring their own food and drinks; there is no potable water on site though some hydration options will be provided. Limited electricity and a barbecue are available. Participants receive a commemorative hoodie and the winner receives event prizes including a jacket, a silver coin, free entry to the next event and travel assistance subject to conditions. A portion of registration fees is donated to the Children's Health Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
