Persistence Backyard Ultra is an affiliated backyard ultra taking place at Eco Park, 15889 Medway Road, Arva, Ontario. The event runs as a backyard-ultra format where runners repeat a loop each hour until one runner completes one loop more than all other runners or no runners complete another loop. The race is a Silver Ticket event, with the winner receiving an automatic entry to compete in the World Team Championship. A portion of each registration is donated to the Children's Health Foundation. The field is capped at 67 participants and there will be no waitlist.

Course, rules and logistics

The course is a small circuit of approximately 3.36 kilometres that must be completed twice consecutively each hour to make the required 6.7056 kilometre loop. Surfaces include crushed stone trail, some grass, and a dirt road. Eco Park is a private facility; the course will not be accessible before race day and will be set up on site.

Crew is limited to two members per runner at the start; crew may be switched and may assist other runners as participants are eliminated. Spectators are not allowed. Race bibs must be worn on the front and remain visible on course. Headlamps are required after dark and reflective gear is encouraged. Medical staff are on site and may withdraw runners deemed unsafe to continue.

Runners must bring their own food and drinks; there is no potable water on site though some hydration options will be provided. No alcohol is permitted. There will be no official timing; completion of each hourly loop is the requirement. The event provides a commemorative hoodie for entrants; the winner receives event prizes, a jacket, a silver coin, and a free entry to the next running of the event.
