Parklands Trail Running Festival
Parklands Trail Running Festival takes place at Lizard Log in Abbotsbury within the Western Sydney Parklands. The event offers four measured off-road distances with listed elevation gains.
- 32 km, elevation 644 m
- 20 km, elevation 367 m
- 11 km, elevation 205 m
- 6 km, elevation 136 m
The course runs through bushland trails, soft grass and undulating terrain. All distances are chip timed by Multisport Australia and have a strict midday cutoff time. Finishers receive a themed medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways and a finisher’s certificate. A photographer will take images on course for later publication.
Race bibs are printed three weeks before the event and posted two weeks out. To have a name printed on a bib, registration must be completed at least three weeks before race day; to receive a posted bib the registration cutoff is two weeks before the event.
Access is by car, with large carparks on the east and west sides of Lizard Log via Horsley Drive; a grass overflow car park is available and may require 4WD depending on weather. There will be other pedestrians, cyclists and dogs on the shared paths, and organisers advise against using earphones and encourage attention to others.
Volunteer roles are available for course marshalling and registration. Volunteers are offered future race entry credit up to $60, free morning coffee and a post event breakfast. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
