Course and race services
The course includes two miles of pavement between Maumelle Park and the Ouachita Trail terminus at Pinnacle Mountain State Park, a climb over Pinnacle Mountain, and an out-and-back along the north shore of Lake Maumelle on the Ouachita National Recreation Trail. Much of the trail is rocky, scenic single-track marked with blue blazes; turns are marked with two blue blazes and additional ribbon markers. The 50K route diverts off the Ouachita Trail near the 16 mile point. If conditions are wet, the top of Pinnacle Mountain may be avoided by rerouting as required by the state park.
There are eleven staffed aid stations for the 50 Mile and seven for the 50 km. Aid stations provide drinks, snacks, fruit, sandwiches and similar items; pain relievers are not supplied. Crews may access specific aid locations and drop bags are accepted for designated aid stations. Race shirts are available in men's and women's fits for registrations received by March 11. Finishing awards are given to each finisher and overall awards are presented on finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
