MTC Bodach

The MTC Bodach is a single-day ultra event listed as Day 13 of the fourteen day MTC MizMal series and forms part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge. The route covers approximately 37.4 miles with about 2,136 ft of ascent and 2,185 ft of descent. The first edition is scheduled for 19 May 2027.

The course starts at the Villa Rose Hotel and Spa, F93 C2CF, and finishes at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel, F93 PPH9. Most of the route follows the MizMal route as provided by Wild Atlantic Cycling. Check points are placed along the course and maps and GPX files are provided to entrants; mapping and GPX downloads are emailed to competitors around four weeks before the event.

Entries are limited to 20 race competitors plus an allowance of 20 MizMal competitors for a maximum of 40 starters. All entries are non refundable. Entry options include a standard fee and a plus package that can include an embroidered race shirt and lightweight hi‑viz race jacket if ordered at least four weeks before the race. All finishers receive a Bodach medal and male and female champions receive bespoke trophies.

The event enforces preset cut-off times based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. The race is cup‑free. Competitors are required to carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. Each competitor is provided with a tracking device that includes an SOS function. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
