Mount Glorious Mountain Trails

The Mount Glorious Mountain Trails is a single-day trail race covering 22 km with a total elevation gain of 1,200 m and total descent of 650 m. The course begins at Cedar Flats and finishes at the clearing opposite Maiala picnic area.

The route runs along the ridgeline and crosses the top of Northbrook Mountain, descends to England Creek where the manned midpoint checkpoint is located, then climbs to the summit of Mount Glorious. Near the top the course follows a historic stone-lined western ridge single trail through rainforest to the Western Window, then a flat run to the finish.

Logistics include organised bus transport from a Park N Ride to the race start, limited parking at Red Cedar Park, and gear transfer by bus to the finish area. The event limits the total number of participants (150 in 2026) and requires participants to be at least 18 years old. There are two start waves; results and prize places are adjusted by wave.

This is a remote course so runners must carry at least 1 L of water; this will be checked pre-race. Top-ups are available at three self-help checkpoints and the manned England Creek midpoint checkpoint, which also provides sports drink and snacks. No disposable cups will be provided. Post-race food includes a brunch of sandwiches, fruit and liquids, and coffee is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
