Miller Mountain Trail Challenge
The event is held at 156 Jurista Dr S in Tunkhannock, PA. It offers trail race and hike options with significant elevation changes over natural singletrack, dirt road sections, and private property crossings.
- 25K approximately 4,700 feet elevation gain
- 25K Hike same course offered as a hike
- 5 Mile approximately 2,000 feet elevation gain
The 25K course includes four ascents of Miller Mountain with over 1,000 feet of gain each. The route begins with a short dirt road section before a steep initial climb, then passes viewpoints overlooking the Susquehanna River, Bennie’s Nursery and Tree Farm where the first aid station is located, a summit pond, and a mix of runnable and steep sections. Descents include fast flowing sections as well as steep, rocky, and wet trails.
The 5 mile course follows a shorter line up Miller Mountain with a steep two mile climb to multiple vistas, then a steep, rocky, wet downhill back to the finish. Both distances use marked aid stations along the course.
Registration prices vary by date with tiered fees for the 25K and 5 mile distances. Packet pickup is scheduled for the Friday before the event in the start area and also available race morning.
