Malvern Midsummer Marathon

Malvern Midsummer Marathon is a routed hill event held on 20 June 2026 with two distance options based at Colwall Village Hall, Mill Ln, Malvern WR13 6EQ (GR SO750420). The event is organised by LDWA - Heart Of England. Entries open 31 October 2025 and close 12 June 2026; entry fees are £18 for LDWA members and £26 for non members. Entries recorded so far are listed as 42 participants. Entry is managed through SiEntries and requires logging in or registering.

Two routes are offered:

  • 27 miles route on tracks and paths with approximately 5000 ft of ascent and four checkpoints.
  • 15 miles route to Black Hill with significant climbing and two checkpoints.

Both routes pass through Cradley, Mathon, Colwall and Evendine. The longer route additionally visits Oyster Hill, Ledbury and Bromsberrow and follows the main ridge from British Camp after the northern Malverns. The route is described as clockwise with a common first half before the longer route continues and the shorter route returns to headquarters.

Checkpoints provide a variety of snacks and drinks. A hot meal and pudding are served at the finish; participants should bring their own mug as none will be provided at checkpoints or the finish. Tackle muddy trails and steep climbs at the May Hill Massacre, a scenic cross country run around May Hill in Gloucestershire. Choose a 7 to 8 mile route or the longer 14 to 15 mile Mayhem loop, with a canicross option and limited entries.
