Malvern Midsummer Marathon : event summary

Malvern Midsummer Marathon takes place on 20 June 2026 with HQ at Colwall Village Hall, Mill Ln, Malvern WR13 6EQ. The event offers two marked routes across the Malvern Hills on tracks and paths. The routes are the same as the 2025 edition and are run clockwise around the route with a common first half.

Distances:

  • 27 miles with approximately 5000ft of ascent, four checkpoints.
  • 15 miles with two checkpoints and significant climb.

Both routes pass through Cradley, Mathon, Colwall and Evendine. The longer route also visits Oyster Hill, Ledbury and Bromsberrow and follows the main ridge from British Camp after the northern Malverns; that ridge section is shared with the short route.

Checkpoints provide a variety of snacks and drinks. A hot meal and pudding are offered at the finish; entrants should bring a mug as none will be provided at checkpoints or the finish. Certificates and badges are presented to all who return to HQ. Dogs are not permitted.

Trail runs nearby

03 June 2026 at Kinver Edge, a 10 km trail run over two laps on local tracks with varied climbs. Canicross is permitted and advance entries cost £10, with limited places and series entry open until 1 May 2026.

A four-race summer cross country series in Herefordshire and nearby venues from 3 June to 15 July 2026, with events at Treworgan Farm, Shobdon Woods, Bearwood Farm and Newton Court. Entry is limited to eligible first claim club members.

Experience a 10k run through the National Trust Brockhampton Estate. This limited entry event features a hilly course with views and welcomes cani cross participants.

A point-to-point 15 mile trail race along the Offa's Dyke footpath between Hay-on-Wye and Kington with three water stations, relay options at mid-race handover points, and age-group prizes.
