Malvern Midsummer Marathon

The Malvern Midsummer Marathon is a trail event taking place in the Malvern Hills, starting and finishing at Colwall Village Hall. Organized by the Heart of England group of the LDWA, the event follows a clockwise route through various local villages and landmarks. The course utilizes tracks and paths, offering scenic views across the region.

Participants can choose from two distinct distances:

  • 27 miles- approximately 5000ft of ascent with four checkpoints.
  • 15 miles- includes two checkpoints.

The routes for both distances share a common first half before the 15 mile route heads back to the headquarters. Locations such as Cradley, Mathon, Colwall, and Evendine are included on both paths. The 27 mile route extends further to cover Oyster Hill, Ledbury, and Bromsberrow, eventually joining the main ridge from British Camp after the northern Malverns.

Checkpoints along the course provide a variety of snacks and drinks. All participants must bring their own mug as none are provided at the stations or the finish. Upon returning to the headquarters, participants receive a hot meal and pudding, alongside a certificate and badge. The event is open to both walkers and runners, though dogs are not permitted on the challenge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
