Course, services and race information
Most of the events are run on dirt tracks with desert landscape sections and parts of the Broken Hill Racecourse. Course layouts use the local parkrun loop plus additional dirt-track sections alongside Racecourse Road and the Silver City Highway; the marathon equals two laps of the half-marathon route. Organisers note the terrain can be unpredictable and the course may be adjusted after heavy rain.
There are four drinks stations on course, with cups and some lollies provided; runners are encouraged to wear hydration vests or carry refillable containers. Bib and pre-purchased T-shirt collection is at the Gary Radford Pavilion. Personal items can be left in a staffed marquee at the start. First aid is provided by St John’s with staff and a vehicle based at the pavilion. A coffee van will be near the start with food for sale and free fruit available.
