Live Oak Ultra

Rougarou Running organizes Live Oak Ultra in Biloxi, Mississippi, with two distance options:

  • 50K
  • Half Marathon

The route runs through Biloxi and Ocean Springs. It passes the Biloxi Lighthouse, follows the beach boardwalk, crosses the Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge, visits Front and East Beaches, and goes into Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park. The course returns to downtown Biloxi at Altered Reality Brewing for the finishers' gathering.

This is an urban coastal route with wayfinding features and support. Course files in GPX format and pocket-sized turn cards are provided; neon tape will mark turns but signs are not expected. Approximately six aid locations are planned with water, Hammer Nutrition products (Heed and gels), fruit and snacks, and some additional food options. Notable aid locations include Golden Nugget (unmanned water), an Ainsley Angels station at Ft Maurepas / Front Beach Drive, Tri Hard Sports on Porter Avenue, and Davis Bayou Park Pavilion. Portos and full restrooms are available near Front Beach and Ft Maurepas.

Participants may use personal crews for aid. Drop bags are permitted at aid stations 2/5, 3, and 4 and should be clearly labeled. Runners have 10 hours to complete the 50K course. Timing is provided via the Ultrasignup app. All finishers receive awards; 50K awards include top overall places and age-group awards while the half marathon awards all finishers and top three men and women.
