Event overview
Live Oak Ultra is a supported 50K ultramarathon held in Biloxi, Mississippi, on January 31, 2026. The urban route runs through Biloxi and Ocean Springs and includes landmarks such as the Biloxi Lighthouse, the beach boardwalk, the bridge to Downtown Ocean Springs, Front and East Beaches, and Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park. The route returns to downtown Biloxi for a post-race gathering at Altered Reality Brewing. Registration closes January 29, 2026.
Course, aid and logistics
The course was planned to be very similar to the 2025 route but may include an additional loop through Ocean Springs or other areas of Biloxi if park permitting is not obtained. The organizer will provide a GPX file and route photos prior to the race. Navigation aids include chalk markings and pocket-sized turn cards; participants are advised to use the GPX file with a phone map app or watch.
There will be approximately six aid locations offering water, Hammer Nutrition products (Heed and gels), fruit and snacks, and some additional food options. Specific aid stations listed include:
- Aid 1/5 - miles 7.1 / 25.6 - Ft Maurepas, Front Beach Dr - Restroom
- Aid 2 - mile 11.1 - Tri Hard Sports - Porter, Ave
- Aid 3/4 - miles 16.0 / 21.5 - Park Pavilion - Restroom
Drop bags are allowed at stations 1/5 and 3/4 but not at station 2. Personal crew access to the course and use of public businesses for aid are permitted. The event allows 10 hours to complete the course.
Entries, awards and services
The organizer supports Ainsley’s Angels and will accommodate Ainsley Athletes and support crews; additional donations to that organization will be accepted on race day. The refund policy offers a 100% refund if a withdrawal occurs more than 14 days before the race, excluding taxes and platform fees; no refund is given for DNS. All finishers receive a unique finisher award. Additional awards are planned for the top three male and female finishers and the top male/female in age divisions: Masters (40-49), Grand Masters (50-59), Seniors (60-69), and Legends (70+).
