La Cuesta Ranch Trail Run

Event overview

The La Cuesta Ranch Trail Run takes place at La Cuesta Ranch just outside San Luis Obispo, CA. The event offers three distances:

• 30 km
• 20 km
• 10 km

All courses use dirt trails and ranch roads with views of the West Cuesta Ridge. The start and finish area is staged at the historic ranch barn. The 10 km course is one loop with approximately 2,000 ft of elevation gain and a similar amount of descent. The 20 km and 30 km distances consist of two and three loops of the same course, respectively. Cut off times are set at three hours per loop.

Logistics and services

Registration includes a well-marked course, fully stocked aid stations at about every three miles, prepackaged foods, water, Hammer Nutrition products, a custom tee shirt, and awards for top finishers plus a custom finisher award. Onsite camping is available Friday night for a fee of $20 per vehicle, payable on arrival; this fee includes Friday camping and Saturday onsite parking. Onsite parking is available for $10 per vehicle per day, payable on arrival at the main gate. Camping is primitive and first-come, and no open fires are allowed.
