Event

The Kilcunda Running Festival takes place on Sunday 1 February 2026 on Victoria’s Bass Coast near the Kilcunda Ocean View Hotel on the Bass Highway. The event uses an out-and-back, marked coastal trail course that includes rolling grassy slopes, sandy beach sections, rail trail and single track. The course is hilly and passes cliffs overlooking the Southern Ocean and nearby green fields.

Course, safety and equipment

Cut off times apply: 21 km - 4 hours, 17 km - 3 hours, 10 km - 2.5 hours, 5 km - 1 hour. Drink stations and first aid are located at the start/finish area and at Punchbowl Rd. Navigation is on a marked course. Runners in the 10 km, 17 km and 21 km events must carry at minimum a water bottle or container and a pressure snake bandage. Sunscreen, a sun hat and a mobile phone are highly recommended. Snakes are present in the area; runners are asked to treat all snakes with caution and to avoid disturbing them.

Logistics and facilities

Parking is available at the foreshore public car park adjacent to the caravan park, on the nature reserve opposite the Ocean View Hotel and in nearby side streets. Rubbish bags will be provided at the start/finish and at Punchbowl Rd. Presentations are scheduled at the registration tent after most finishers have completed the event.
