The In Yan Teopa trail race takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Frontenac State Park in Frontenac, Minnesota. The event offers two distances:

• 5-mile
• 10-mile

Both courses run on trails through varied landscapes, including rolling prairies, single-track trails, and climbs. The 10-mile course includes a mid-way aid station.

Location and logistics

The venue address is 29223 County 28 Blvd., Frontenac, MN 55026; the park is about 10 miles southeast of Red Wing and 5 miles northwest of Lake City on Highway 61. Frontenac State Park offers camping options; nearby hotels are available in the Red Wing and Lake City area.

Online registration closes Wednesday, September 16 at 11:59 PM CT. On-site registration is available on race day and closes 10 minutes before the race. Participants should allow time to pay park admission.

This is a cupless event; participants are asked to carry a water container or bottle. Water is provided at the start/finish area and at the mid-way aid station on the 10-mile course. Aid stations will offer water, fruit, and snacks. Restrooms are available at the start and finish areas.

If a participant does not finish, they should remove their bib and give it to an aid station volunteer or the race director. Leaving the course without notifying race officials may affect future participation. The race director may delay, suspend, or cancel the event for unsafe conditions; refunds and transfers are not allowed.
