In Yan Teopa 5 & 10 Miler

The In Yan Teopa trail race takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Frontenac State Park in Frontenac, Minnesota. The event offers two distances:

  • 5 mile
  • 10 mile

Courses run on park trails and pass through rolling prairies, single-track trail sections, and climbs. The 10 mile course includes a mid-way aid station. Aid stations provide water, fruit, snacks, and other items. The event is cupless to reduce waste; participants are encouraged to carry a water container, bottle, or running vest. Water is available at the start and finish area and at the mid-way aid station for the 10 mile course.

Restrooms are available at the start and finish areas. Parking requires park admission and organizers ask runners and volunteers to use the lot near the top of the park. The park offers camping sites with amenities, and there are hotels in nearby Red Wing and Lake City.

If a participant drops out, they should remove their bib and hand it to an aid station volunteer or the race director. Failure to notify race officials after leaving the course may affect future participation. The race director may delay, suspend, or cancel the event for dangerous weather or other hazardous conditions. No refunds or transfers are allowed.
