IKARA ULTRA is a trail running event set at Wilpena Pound in the Ikara - Flinders Ranges, South Australia, on 1 May 2026. The event route passes through regional features including old stations, creeks, shearing sheds, homesteads, mountain tops, ruins and Wilpena Pound. The area is the traditional country of the Adnyamathanha people and is noted in the event text for its geological and palaeontological significance, including fossils that span hundreds of millions of years and examples tied to the Ediacaran period. The Heysen Trail also begins in the Ikara - Flinders Ranges.
