The Hippo Trail Fest takes place March 21, 2026 at the Hippo Social Club, 3250 Limmer Loop Unit 3, Hutto, TX. The event includes multiple trail running and ruck race distances plus a youth 1-mile run for ages 12 and under. Registration collects a $10 land use fee and there is a shirt cutoff on February 24. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning. Parking is in a dirt lot at the site and across the street at Cottonwood Creek Elementary School.

Course, rules and support
The course is a well-marked, rolling 6.5 mile loop on soft forest trails with some creek crossings, short ups and downs, and occasional tight turns. Aid station support includes two on-course stations plus a full start/finish aid station; 10k, half and full runners will not go more than 2.5 miles without support. All races are chip timed; chips are issued race morning and must be worn on the ankle. Pacers are not allowed. The Ruck Division requires 20 lb for entrants under 150 lb and 30 lb for those over 150 lb, with mandatory weigh-ins at pickup and finish. The Hippo Haul is a 5 km weight-carry event with a concrete hippo for each participant and periodic mandatory tasks on course. The festival also hosts combative sports showcases, art and wellness experiences, a recharge and restore zone, live music, and food vendors.
