The race is a trail run through Harns Marsh. The course passes marsh-lined trails and open areas where bird sightings are possible. The race is held the same day as the LAMSID Wings Over Water (WOW) Festival, which includes a touch-a-truck event, a fishing derby, and vendors.
Race logistics
Registration fees listed are $30 for the 5K and $27.50 for the 1 Mile; prices increase after December 31, 2025 at 11:59pm EST. Packet pickup is available Friday, January 23 at Fleet Feet Bell Tower, 13499 S Cleveland Ave Ste 209, Fort Myers, FL 33907 (4:30pm-7:00pm) and Saturday, January 24 at Harns Marsh, 3399 38th Street West, Lehigh Acres, FL 33971 (7:00am-7:45am).
All participants receive a commemorative finisher medal and a race T-shirt. The 5K will use chip timing. Awards are given overall to male and female 1st through 3rd (gun time). Age-group awards (male and female 1st-3rd) cover 0-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus, based on net chip time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
