Hare Mountain 100

The event takes place in Hagarville, Arkansas, with racing centered around the Haw Creek Falls Recreation Area and Shores Lake campground. Multiple distances are offered:

  • 100 Mile
  • 50 Mile
  • 50K
  • 25K
  • 15 Mile Dirty Doo

The 100 Mile is a point to point, graduate level run on singletrack along sections of the National Scenic Ozark Highlands Trail. Organizers describe the course as extremely difficult and routed through isolated, rugged terrain. Live satellite GPS tracking and live aid station in/out times are used on course via MAProgress and UltraSignup with Starlink systems. A tracking device rental is available through MAProgress for a fee.

The 25K is a loop at Shores Lake with about 3500 feet of elevation gain. The 50K is an out and back with roughly 7200 feet of gain. The 50 Mile is an out and back with about 12,000 feet of gain. The 15 Mile Dirty Doo is a run then bike duathlon on a 15 mile loop, approximately 70 percent gravel and 30 percent chip seal or paved, with one midloop aid station and a combined 30 mile distance when both legs are completed.

A potential Black Bear 105k would be an out and back with over 15,000 feet of gain. The 100 entry fee and related rental and shuttle fees are published by organizers. Cutoff rules allow official finishes if runners leave the last aid station within cutoff and reach the finish even if beyond 38 hours.
