The Grand Mesa Ultras take place on Grand Mesa, Colorado. The event includes multiple trail ultramarathon distances and is set on the Grand Mesa, described as the largest flat-topped mountain in the world with an average elevation over 10,000 ft. The event features trail running on mountain single track with rocky technical climbs, forest single track, alpine meadows, lakes and streams, and wildflower areas.

Course, camping and event features

The races use natural mountain trails rather than jeep roads. Camping options on and near the mesa include cabin rentals, campgrounds, remote forest camping, and car camping in the race parking lot. Awards and on-site amenities include cash prizes for 1st-3rd male and female finishers, a $100 bonus for course records, custom finisher awards for 1st-3rd and masters male and female, a post-race raffle, event T-shirts, a burger cookout, and beer provided by Ska Brewing.
