About the race
The Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon is a high-alpine running event held in early July 2027. It offers multiple race distances that run in and around the Zermatt region, including:
- Ultra-Marathon: 45.8 km
- Marathon: 42.195 km
- Half marathon: 21.1 km
- TOP20RUN: 22.0 km
- Hörnli-Kidsrun
The event information notes logistics and participant services: a Swiss Runners Ticket is included with the entry fee and covers free public transport travel within Switzerland up to seven days before and after the race. A Begleiterticket is available for CHF 85 and is valid on Saturday from St. Niklaus to the Gornergrat. Race numbers may be transferred to another person for a CHF 20 fee. Powerbar supplies gels, energy products and isotonic drinks at the course refreshment stations. The organiser publishes an event guide and a race magazine with details on categories, start lists, start number collection, course refreshment and control times, accommodation and travel.
