High Mountain Running Event in Zermatt
The Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon is a high mountain running event taking place in the Alps. The course leads participants from St. Niklaus up to the Gornergrat, offering various distances for mountain runners.
Participants can choose from several race formats:
- Ultra-Marathon: 45.8 km
- Marathon: 42.195 km
- Half-Marathon: 21.1 km
- TOP20RUN: 22.0 km
- Hörnli-Kidsrun: A dedicated course for children.
The registration fee includes the Swiss Runners Ticket, which provides free travel on public transport within Switzerland for up to seven days before and after the competition. Aid stations along the route are stocked with Powerbar products, including gels, energy bars, and isotonic drinks. For spectators, a supporter ticket is available for purchase in St. Niklaus or Zermatt, allowing travel from St. Niklaus to the Gornergrat on the day of the race.
