Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon
The Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon is a high-altitude mountain running event held in the Swiss Alps. The course leads from St. Niklaus up to the Gornergrat, offering participants views of the surrounding mountain landscape, including the Matterhorn. The event provides multiple distance options to accommodate different types of runners:
- Ultra-Marathon: 45.595 km
- Marathon: 42.195 km
- TOP20RUN: 22.0 km
- Halbmarathon: 21.1 km
- Hörnli-Kidsrun: Youth distance
The registration fee includes the Swiss Runners Ticket, which allows for free travel on public transport within Switzerland for up to seven days before and after the competition. Participants can choose to transfer their registration to another person by contacting the organizers.
The event infrastructure includes refreshment stations along the routes and designated spectator hotspots for fans. Additionally, there is a "moving grandstand" available for spectators to follow the race.
