The course offers views of the Pacific Coast and the Marin Headlands, including vistas of Tiburon, San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Course, logistics and rules

Courses are marked with ribbon about every 200 yards and color coded by distance. Polka-dot flagging marks turns; blue ribbons mark wrong ways. Headphones are allowed on dirt road sections only and are not allowed on single-track, when crossing paved roads, at aid stations, or when crossing the finish line. GPX files are available for all distances. Drop bags are permitted for the 30K, Marathon and 50K at the start/finish.

Parking is prohibited in the Rodeo Beach lot. Event parking is available at the Marine Mammal Center lot, along Mitchell Road starting at the lagoon footbridge, and at areas along Bunker Road. Runners should use the path to reach check-in at the Rodeo Beach picnic area. Bib and shirt pick-up is at check-in on race day; participants are asked to arrive about 45 minutes before their event. To guarantee a shirt, register at least 10 business days prior.

Aid, safety and awards

Fully stocked aid stations appear every 4 to 6 miles with fresh fruit, salty snacks, candy, water and Skratch drink. Runners are advised to carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations. The race is cupless; participants should bring their own fluid container. T-shirts are given to pre-registered runners; all finishers receive a custom medal and 50K finishers receive a custom coaster. The top three overall male and female finishers in each distance receive awards plus race credit: $50, $35 and $20 respectively. Time limits apply by distance.
