Course & Event Details

The course is a trail run through the Marin Headlands, starting and finishing at the Historic Gunnery Range in Rodeo Valley. It consists of a combination of single-track hiking trails and fire roads. Runners take in panoramic views that include the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and rolling green hills.

The marathon course involves running the half marathon loop twice. The course is marked with orange ribbon. There is a six-hour course cut-off time for all distances.

Aid stations are available for the half marathon at mile 6 and for the marathon at miles 6, 13, and 19. There are no aid stations on the 10K course, and carrying water is highly recommended. Food and drink will be available at the finish area for all finishers.

Parking is at Smith Road, with attendants directing traffic on race day. Participants are advised to allow an extra 15 minutes to walk from the parking area to the check-in location.

Participant Information

All participants receive a T-shirt. Finisher medals are awarded to full and half marathoners. Personalized award ribbons are mailed a few weeks after the race to the top three male and female finishers in each age group for all distances.

Athlete check-in opens at the start/finish area. Bibs are mailed to participants in advance and must be brought to the event.

The event has a total participant limit of 400. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable, though a rollover credit option (minus a fee) is available if cancellation is communicated by a specified date.
