Glendalough Tucker Trail

The Glendalough Tucker Trail is an 80 km mountain running event centered on the Glendalough Valley in County Wicklow. The course covers approximately 80 km with about 3,000 m of ascent and is organised as three out & back loops run as a continuous single-stage race that must be completed within 12 hours. The start, finish and transition area are beside the Upper Lake car-park in the Glendalough Valley.

The route follows the way-marked trails of St Kevin’s Way, the Spink and the Wicklow Way. The existing way-mark posts are considered sufficient for navigation; only major junctions may be additionally marked. GPS devices are allowed.

Entry requires membership of the Irish Mountain Running Association for 2026 and a minimum age of 18 on the day of the event. The entry fee is €40 and entries close on Tuesday 9 June 2026. There are limits on places.

The event carries an advanced kit requirement (Level C). Required items include a waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, foil blanket or bivvy, waterproof full leg cover, means to carry at least 500 mL water, emergency food, a map of the route/area and a compass. The final kit to be carried will be confirmed at registration. Random kit checks may be carried out and failure to have required items can result in denial of entry or disqualification.
