Cobb & Co Backyard Ultra
The Cobb & Co Backyard Ultra is a timed loop endurance event held at the Cobb & Co Nine Mile Camping Ground, 1484 Noosa Road, Tandur, Gympie, Qld on 14 November 2026. Runners complete a 6.7 km loop with 32 m elevation gain every hour; each lap must be finished within the hour to count. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format: the loop restarts on the hour and repeats until only one runner completes a lap alone.
The course is set entirely within the campground and is marked with reflective orange flagging tape and red directional arrows; red crosses mark intersections that are not on course. Runners must remain on course for each loop except to use the restroom. Non-competitors and withdrawn runners are not allowed on the course. Personal aid on the course is prohibited; competitors must carry the same equipment they start with. Head torches are mandatory for night loops. Use of artificial assisting equipment is not allowed.
Entry fee for the race is $195. Minimum age is 15 years; participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian present. Race refunds are available until 1 November 2026 and are subject to a $30 administration charge. Crew and spectators pay a day visit pass of $5 per person, valid until 4pm; camping fees apply after that. Onsite camping and accommodation options are available through Cobb & Co with separate fees.
