Cobb & Co Backyard Ultra at Nine Mile Camping Grounds

The Cobb & Co Backyard Ultra is a loop-based endurance event held on 14 November 2026 at the Cobb & Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds, 1484 Noosa Road, Tandur, Gympie, Qld. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format: runners complete a measured 6.7 km loop each hour and must finish each loop within the hour to continue. Each completed lap resets the event; the last person to complete a loop alone is declared the winner.

The course is contained entirely within the campground and is marked with reflective flagging tape and red directional arrows at intersections. Spectators and crew remain close to the start/finish area; no support persons are allowed on the course and no vehicles are permitted in the crew area. Competitors must remain on course except to use restroom facilities and must not receive personal aid on the course.

Entry cost is $195. The minimum age is 15 years; participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian present at the event. Crew and spectator day visit passes are payable on arrival and are valid until late afternoon; after that time normal camping fees apply. Onsite camping is available with unpowered sites and permitted generator use during daytime hours. Various cabin and tent accommodation options are offered by Cobb & Co and must be booked directly with the campground. Head torches are mandatory for any night loops and basic first aid is available at the start/finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
