Event overview

The Genesee Valley Ultra takes place in Parkton, MD on Saturday March 28 to Sunday March 29, 2026. The event uses a single 2.5 mile loop at the Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center. Runners have timed formats of 24-hour, 12-hour, and 6-hour to complete as many loops as possible. The event is chip timed and ties in loop count are decided by overall time.

Race formats and rules

  • 24-hour - individual and 4-person team options
  • 12-hour - individual and 2-person team options
  • 6-hour - individual and 2-person team options

Pacers are allowed only for individual 12-hour and 24-hour runners. Only one pacer may accompany a runner at a time, pacers must register, wear the issued yellow jersey, and may not carry aid for the runner. Relay teams exchange bibs in the designated exchange area; teams may exchange as often as they choose.

Course, camping and facilities

The loop consists of farm roads, grass fields, and some double track. The course is on private property and is closed to the public prior to the official preview, which will be open on the Friday before the race. Start and finish share the same location and there is a course exit before the finish for refuel and relay exchanges. Check in, packet pick up, and camp set up begin on the Friday before the race. No RVs or camper vans are allowed in the main camping area; pets are not permitted on the property.

Hashawha Hills 50 km in Westminster Maryland is two loops of technical single track with about 5800 feet of climb for a scenic winter ultramarathon. Finish indoors with hot food and a nine hour time limit.
