Fondren Urban Ultra
Jackson, United States • 18 Apr 2026
The Fondren Urban Ultra is a 12 hour timed road race for individual runners held in the Fondren neighborhood of Jackson, Mississippi on April 18, 2026. The event uses a *3.1 mile* (5k) loop run around Fondren with a mix of hills and flat sections and approximately 150 feet of elevation gain and loss per loop. The loop begins and ends at Fondren Church, where participants may place nutrition, tents, coolers, and similar gear. The race is chip timed for accuracy.
The 5k loop is USATF certified (MS17010MS) and will be used to record Mississippi state records for 50k, 12 hour, and 100k events; only Mississippi residents are eligible to be recorded for those state records. A full 5k lap must be completed within the 12 hour time limit for it to be counted. Aid at the start/finish area includes water, Tailwind, and sweet and salty food. Runners may take breaks but must remain in the church parking area while doing so.
The field is limited to 165 individual runners; race capacity and the waitlist are full and registration closed on February 28, 2026. Packet pickup occurs the day before the race at Buffalo Peak and on race morning at the start/finish. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferments. The event is organized by the Mississippi Ultra and Trail Society, a nonprofit focused on promoting trail and ultra running in the area.
