Fondren Urban Ultra

The Fondren Urban Ultra is a 12 hour timed road race for individual runners held in the Fondren neighborhood of Jackson, Mississippi on April 18, 2026. The event uses a 3.1 mile (5k) loop that begins and ends at Fondren Church, where runners can place nutrition, tents, coolers, and similar personal items.

The course combines hills and flat sections and has approximately 150 feet of elevation gain and loss per 5k loop. The loop is USATF certified (MS17010MS) and will be used to record Mississippi state results for the 50k, 12 hour, and 100k distances; only Mississippi residents are eligible to be recorded for state records. The race is chip timed, and a full 5k lap must be completed within the 12 hour time limit for that lap to count.

An aid area at the start/finish provides water, Tailwind, and sweet and salty food. The field is limited to 165 individual runners. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning at the start/finish location. Entry fee is listed as $50 with a price increase to $60 on January 1. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferments. The event is organized by Mississippi Ultra and Trail Society, a nonprofit organization that supports trail and ultra running in the area.
