Course and logistics
All distances use an approximately 10-mile counter-clockwise loop that starts and ends at a parking lot at the bottom (coordinates 36.80445, -114.13872). The loop’s elevation ranges from about 1,903 ft to about 2,333 ft, with a net change of roughly 430 ft per loop. Terrain is predominantly desert trails with packed dirt and rocky sections.
Aid stations include a water station near the loop start and an Aid Station 2 near mile 5 of each loop. The 50K and 100K finish with a 0.5-mile out-and-back on a nearby bike path to reach the exact race distance.
Recommended gear and considerations listed by the organiser include trail shoes with good grip, sun protection, carrying additional water or electrolytes, and that trekking poles may help on the steep initial climb. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
