The Fire on the Mountain Trail Race takes place on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The start time is 7:00 AM. Distances and Course
The event offers two distances:
- 50K - Approximately 31.95 miles.
- 25K - Approximately 16.3 miles.
The 50K is an out-and-back course with seven aid stations. The 25K course includes about 6.5 miles of trail, described as sometimes technical with ups and downs, roots, rocks, and "billy goat" trails. The remainder of the 25K is on forest service roads and improved dirt roads.
Cutoff Times and Policies
Participants must finish within strict cutoff times to be considered official finishers and receive a finisher's premium.
- 50K cutoff: 10 hours.
- 25K cutoff: 4 hours and 45 minutes.
The race policy states no refunds, no deferments, and no transfers, with potential exceptions for military or pregnancy-related circumstances.
Additional Information
A semi-organized, self-supported training run is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026, starting at the finish line at 8:00 AM. The run will cover between 7 to 15 miles on the red trail. Volunteers are needed to staff the aid stations. The event is part of a series; runners who complete five out of seven designated 2Lowe Run Co events can earn "Distinguished Participant" status.
