Event Overview

The Fall Creek Falls 50K and Half Marathon Trail Runs are held on March 21, 2026, in Spencer, Tennessee, at 10821 Park Road. The event is in Tennessee's most popular state park, which features the highest free-falling waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains. The course is described as shaded.

Distances and Course

The event offers two distances:

  • 50K
  • Half Marathon

For 2026, the courses will return to the original layout, as a suspension bridge repair has been completed. The Half Marathon is one loop, finishing at the pavilion at the Betty Dunn Nature Center. The 50K involves two loops of the course, returning to the start/finish area between loops.

Event Details

A post-race meal and music are provided for all participants. Race packet includes a long sleeve shirt and other items. Award mugs and certificates are given. There are three aid stations on the loop, providing water, Gatorade, gel, and some snacks. Hot food is available only at the finish. The event has a no-refund policy, but registration protection insurance is offered during checkout. Event shirts are not guaranteed for participants registering within two weeks of the event.

Logistics

Packet pickup and late registration are available the day before and the morning of the event at a pavilion across from the Nature Center. A time limit for the 50K is loosely held to a 20-minute-per-mile pace, with checkpoints at aid station #3. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
