The Fall Backyard Burn Trail Run at Laurel Hill takes place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA (9518 Workhouse Way). The event offers the following course options:

Course and rules

The course runs on singletrack through forest and open meadow on the former Lorton Reformatory grounds. Surface is mainly dirt and crushed stone with short pavement sections at the start and finish. There are no extended climbs; the route has many short ups and downs. Elevation gain is listed as 350 feet for one lap and 700 feet for two laps.

Key race rules include no in-ear headphones, no pets, no pacers, and no baby strollers on course. Race numbers must be worn on the front and be visible. Outside assistance is allowed only within 50 meters of aid stations. Racers must stay on designated trails and notify officials if they drop out.

A charity partnership with Homestretch is offered during registration. Age-group awards are available for Male, Female, and Non-Binary divisions across standard age brackets.
