Fall Backyard Burn Trail Run - Fountainhead

The event takes place at Fountainhead Regional Park in Fairfax Station, Virginia, along the Occoquan Reservoir. The course uses hiking trails and a few old dirt roads and has been staged at Fountainhead by the organizer for many years.

Two course options are offered:

  • 4.8 miles single loop on the Fountainhead course, elevation gain 450 feet.
  • 10.5 miles the 4.8 mile loop plus a lollipop out-and-back on the Bull Run Occoquan Trail, elevation gain reported around 950 to 1,000 feet.

The organizer is EX2 Adventures and the page lists a charity partnership with Homestretch to raise awareness and funds for local families. The event page also notes referral rewards for registrants who refer others, and that race medals are available as an optional add-on.

The race is staged near the main parking lot at Fountainhead Regional Park and uses adjacent paved and grass parking areas. Additional event details on participant services and kid programming are provided by the organizer on the event website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
