Epona 100 : Abergavenny trail event

Epona 100 is a trail event organised by Stable Adventures that starts in Bailey Park, Abergavenny. It follows long-distance routes including the Cambrian Way, Offa’s Dyke and the Beacons Way, covering extensive mountain and trail terrain in South Wales. The course includes about 17,000 feet of elevation and eight staffed checkpoints along the route. Participants who complete the 100-mile option within the event time limit receive a finisher medal and a belt buckle.

The event provides live tracking for competitors, emergency medical cover, GPS/GPX route files, a drop bag facility and a sleep station. Checkpoints offer food and drinks. Organisers list a mandatory kit that includes trail-appropriate footwear, water bottles totalling at least 1.5 litres, a charged mobile phone, downloaded GPX/GPS files, a headlamp or light source, a survival bag, waterproof and warm clothing, a backpack, blister kit, a reusable cup and sufficient food reserves (minimum 500 calories when leaving the start line or each checkpoint). Experience a self navigation trail challenge through the Brecon Beacons National Park with distances ranging from 13 to 50 miles. Enjoy full support and mountain landmarks on a course featuring over 11000 feet of elevation.

A timed, multi lap run at Parc Taf Bargoed using a 5.3 km out and back lap. Distances range from 5 km to ultra with a seven hour limit and a medal or no medal entry option.
